L’opera prima di Robert Capa rivede la luce, dopo tanti anni di oblio.
Un miliziano in primo piano, un titolo eloquente e un autore che da lì a poco avrebbe ribaltato le sorti della fotografia internazionale. Era il 1938 e la prima edizione di Death in the Making di Robert Capa vedeva la luce nei laboratori dell’editore Pauline Vermare.
La monografia, oggi ritenuta una delle pietre miliari della storia del genere, ritorna in stampa in una nuova veste modernizzata. Un nuovo volume, che strizza l’occhio al passato e che tiene inalterata la selezione delle fotografie, voluta al tempo da Gerda Taro e tanto cara, fin da subito, a Robert Capa.

Prezzo proibitivo, spazio e indisponibilità sono spesso le principali cause dell’impossibilità di poter avere tra le mani le monografie, o raccolte di immagini, di autori a noi più cari.
Eh no, non è l’ultimo studio scientifico attuato da una sedicente rivista di attualità, ma semplicemente la constatazione di molti amatori che stanno riscoprendo, negli ultimi anni, l’importanza del cartaceo nella propria vita — capendo che forse era meglio rimanere nel proprio guscio.
